Kids on Computers in Ghana

Kids on Computers® volunteers learned about Daniel Amardi in Ghana some time in 2012. He had heard that we donated computers to create labs, but his hope was different. He had been accepted to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and knew that he would be at a disadvantage without a laptop. He asked to receive one.

Kids on Computers® had never given a computer outright without establishing a computer lab at a selected school. Daniel’s request was outside our standard operating procedure. The Board of Directors considered his request and, although it was something we had never done before, approved Daniel’s request.

We identified a suitable laptop, configured it with our standard OS and application set, and arranged to have it delivered to Daniel before he left for the University.
