The Kids on Computers® volunteers who visited Assam, India in October 2013 established a new computer lab at the Morigaon Jatiya Vidyalaya school. The computer lab had 12 desktops and 2 laptops. Each system was configured with Lubuntu 13.04, TuxSuite, GCompris, and additional educational software packages.
Internet was not available when we first established the lab, but was available by the end of the trip.

The volunteers conducted three training sessions at this school. Although some students — and also some teachers — had never used a computer, they quickly learned how to use their newly installed computers.
We were able to identify specific needs for further equipment to augment the classroom.
